Making less sense than ever - But then...other options?

You know, not that I am anti-immigrants and all, but I am wondering where the logic is in allowing the poor Zimbabwean refugee's, who are for all intensive purposes now residents in New Zealand, health care at the tax payers expense. I say that only for this reason.

The sad thing is that the only treatment one can have with having the HIV virus is medication that only can prolong quality of life and not offer a cure. I am not against them getting subsidised medical treatments or any other assistance for those who do not have the HIV virus. I'm not against them even being here on the tax payers dollar. What makes no sense for me is that this treatment is being offered to them when there is not a single dollar going into futher subsidising of a proven cure treatment called Herceptin for breast cancer treatments in its early stages.

So thats what I don't get people. I dont get the spend money on a non cure, vs the decision to not spend money on a cure (which by the way has and is impacting on NEW ZEALAND women) and continues to do so.

We can go out and treat people, with respect, who are not from here, with a disease that is incurable, and not even try to save our 'own'.

While I am no hard lined Labour supporter, as in not being a paying member of the party, I am now more concerned that there is a time for a change. But I wonder. To whom shall we turn the country over too? National? Don Brash and his band of Merry Men and that Ruth Richardson wannabe Judith Collins leave much to be desired in terms of their logical policy.

Heaven forbid. ACT? The sole MP from the party lead by a garden gnome who picks on people. Then there is the Maori Party. Rookies who mean well, but I fear may be a little too one dimensional. The Greens? ...enough said...

Then we move to NZ First. The less said about them, the better and then United Future and Little Jimmy and his one man Progressive Coalition. Its a pitty to some degree that we dont have a modern day Guy Fawkes. So we can start again.

The only reason labour got my vote in the last election was the same reason a lot of people voted for George Bush in their last election. Better the devil you know than those you dont.

So...who are we better off with?

NZ Idol - Ashlee Should Have Gone!!

I'm sorry not to be more loyal to a Waikato girl on New Zealand Idols latest run, but as far as I'm concerned she should have been the one to go last night rather than Victor.

From the performances on Sunday night, Ashlee had one of the worst performances of a soul song that I have heard. The song was just far too ambitious for her. If she had the vocal abilities of one of her contemporaries, Joss Stone for example then she may have carried it off.

She has to pull finger get my support, not that I text at all...we were channel hopping at the time and heard a cat dying so we stopped to check it out.

Sorry Ashlee, that was just sad. From over 12 years music industry experience as a producer, recorder and a vocalist, I can talk, if anyone is interested.
