Get over yourself man

You know, I dont have a lot of time for Helen Clark myself, but I can respect her enough to have joined in with the applause that the house gave her relating to her position in the United Nations. Its a tremendous honour and I think she has the potential to do a good job.

Like her or not, she has achieved a lot. The first elected woman prime minister of New Zealand and a three termer. That is quite an accomplishment. She managed coalition governments very well under MMP and regardless of the overall results of those governments, she did very well and was very decisive. There are and were certainly areas where as a former Labour supporter I think she crossed the line from general government to micro managing the homes (the anti-smacking law being one) as well as the nanny state she helped create, but you should in all honesty be able to set aside some differences to congratulate someone for an accomplishment.

However, ACT list MP David Garrett aparently didn't join in. Another one who seemed to feel like he was tossed from the sandbox. Or at least, had the attitude of "I don't want to play with you" because he would have been hypocritical considering how he feels about Ms Clark.

I feel list MP's are hypocritical anyways...so whats the difference. Why are they hypocritical? They represent no one except their party yet sit in the house...drawing a massive salary for hoping to stay awake.

Come on Garrett. You're not so big to give credit where credit is due. And simply put, you need to get over to yourself. While I do not agree with Ms Clark in all her ways, I can put that aside to give her some credit for what she has achieved, both domestically and internationally.
