I just don't get it

Call me dumb, but is the prevailing attitude of most Maori out there that they can do what they want when they want and it's everyone elses fault, or is it that they just don't give a toss about anyone else but themselves?

Two incidents hop into my mind about this.

The family in Morrinsville who are being refused tenancy in a house they have long occupied curtosry of the New Zealand tax payer through Housing Corp. They seem shocked that Housing is exercising its rights to determine where people live. Considering they are proud patch members of the Mob.

If the things said about them are true, loud parties, drunken abuse of the neighbours then heck yeah, move them on. The thing that these tenants didnt seem to get was Housing NZ did not have to give them anything but yet they are helping them get a house...just not that one as indicated in the 3 News report. There are standards that must be adheared to and if they cant do that then kick them out.

The tenants brother who was barred from living at the address was saying it was the kids who "suffer the mostest"...thats right folks..."mostest". From what...the loss of a house or the gang affiliations...which is it. Think about it...what will cause them to suffer the mostest in the future?

Then there is that dumbass woman in Rotorua, caught 8 times DUI and when told shes facing a lengthy jail term, goes to the pub.

The thing is, being caught DUI is one thing, but being caught DUI for the 8th time, and being 8 months pregnant, and having already been barred for life from ever having a New Zealand drivers licence, kind of makes matters worse for this flash of brilliance in the local gene pool.

Aparently, she said to the judge that she was driving because she wasnt as drunk as the passengers in the car. Gee, well that makes it all nice and cosey feeling now huh. DUMBASS...have I said that yet?

I found this part mildly amusing. She is also the sole caregiver of her children and is also looking after her partners kids. Hes in jail already. GREAT!!! It seems to run the family.

Having seen too many times the affect of alcohol on the unborn child, this is just way to much. Those kids deserve a life that isnt half cut. On balance, what do you think? More spent on booze in the average week than on the kids? A steady diet of coke, pies and chips?

"Her sentencing yesterday for drink driving and driving while disqualified was delayed until May for a pre-sentence report but the judge told her home detention was not an option and she faced a lengthy jail term. When stopped by police in July, 2006, her breath-alcohol level was 994mcg per litre of breath – 594mcg over the legal limit." Lets say it all together. DUMB ASS!!!

I guess its time people like this started learning lessons the hard way and realising that there are rules. I think the judge should come down hard on this one...hoping a lesson can be learned but I have my doubts.

As for the tenants in Morrinsville, well, they should be thankful Housing NZ has said we'll help you find another one, rather than piss off, don't want to see you again in any of our houses. Thing is, as the song says, "you can't always get what you want".
