Kiri & Hayley.

What a flippen arrogant cheek of Dame Kiri to say what she said about Hayley Westenra, and her being a "fake singer" and not lasting long in the business.

Now, there is a long line of accolades behind Dame Kiri there is no doubt. She obviously is one of the worlds greatest voices...but I tell you what, if this is later to be shrugged off as reverse phsychology on the part of Kiri, then it stinks of pure professional jealousy and stink attitude.

Westena is a talent and a growing one. Personally, neither Kiri or Hayley will play in my top ten, and I think Kiri kills Hine e Hine, and has butchered others but I will respect her talent of singing and her vocal range is outstanding. But I think what annoys me the most is that if one of my role-models said what she said to me...I'd be changing my models quickly and finding someone worth the time emulating.

Westenra is worth looking towards someone like Hinewehi Mohi, Moana Jackson, Sarah Brightman, for some real people attitudes. Those who have done well in their professions but have still got their feet planted on the ground, rather than their head up their ass. Forgive the french...
