Score one for justice

You know with all this other crap flying around relating to the terror raids, election finances, tazers and so on, is it not nice to see at least one thing go the way of the 'people'.

The 25 year old idiot who used his car as a weapon was sentenced to 18 and a half years non-parole for the murder of Melissa Vaill and Kane Wright after he drove his car into them, twice it seems killing them, one instantly, one later of the injuries.

I think you need to read the report in the Herald about this case because of the nature of the case and the outcomes of it made even the judge cry, and judges are usually hardened people who are trained and experienced in being to the intent of the law, rather than viewing the realities faced by those impacted by the issue before them.

But thanks to Mr Gardner, the now convited double murderer, we've seen a more tender side. He cut down two people who will never get to experience life to their potential. Well done Justice Hugh Williams in such a difficult situation.
