Telecom is at it again

I swear when I signed up for Telecom, no sorry, XTRA's broadband internet service that I was being given a relativly fast service. Now that they are how shall we say, "Unleashing Broadband", I swear I'm waiting longer.

While its not the most classy of the Tui Beer biillboard ads, its a statement to make.

Now, in todays Herald, I read that they are increasing the standard line rental charges by about 3%. So in all, my roughly $49 per month standard line charge is going to be about $53-$54.

Someone did make a point though. Most of the "competition" Telecom has have invested money into regional centre networks rather than creating new national networks. The problem I have and its one that is historical was neither did Telecom. The national networks were once owned by the government and maintained and operated by the former structure of the Post Office, at a time when schools had kids saving schemes. Then once the de-regulation and dismanteling of the state owned assets like the railway and phone networks, no one has invested the bucks to create a new national communications grid. Granted that is a lot of bucks.

I wonder though, what services we are going to get for our Xtra $1.50!!

You need to switch your line rental, broadband, etc over to TelstraClear. Get away from that Telecom as fast as possible. That's what I did as soon as I was able to and I'm very happy I did!
